In 1663, Henry Randolph built a gristmill in what is now Colonial Heights and it is believed to be the oldest gristmill in the United States. Over the next 200 years, the mill saw many owners and in may capacities. From a mill, to a corn whiskey distillery to manufacturing.
In 1956 if officially became the Swift Creek Mill. In 1965 three local families bought the then vacant and run down building in the hopes of bringing live theatre to the local area. The building was refurbished and turned into a dinner theatre while still preserving the natural look. It has been in operation now for over 40 years.
